It hasn't been even a year since the third generation of both the popular GTR and GTS came into this world, and now, we got the new hot candidates for the best smartwatch of the lower price category – GTR 4, GTS 4, and GTS 4 Mini. But... the changes are not as noticeable. But we will see.
The GT line's display was always an advantage of the line, and of course there had to be an improvement there. The GTR 4 has display with the measurements 1.43 inches, 466 x 466 px resolution, and the option of Always-On display.
Looking at the design, the watch is still going to lean more towards the elegant category. This time, Amazfit really gave attention to the details and the curves of the watch. You can see it for yourself:
I might not be able to decide whether the crown is an eyesore for me or not, but I definitely appreciate the style of the lugs and the overall impression, which is enhanced by the aluminium case. The watch is going to be available in silver and black.

Introduction of Amazfit GTS/GTR 3 – With a display from out of this world?
And as I am a fan of nylon straps, I simply cannot forget to mention that the GTR 4 is going to come not only on silicone or leather strap... but also on nylon!
Frankly, the GTR 4 does not bring that many new features to the table. Calling, music playback, battery life of 12 days... the same old features, the same as those of the third generation.
However, the watch is getting a new optical sensor (BioTracker 4.0) and a GPS receiver, which will be capable of receiving 5 navigation system on 2 frequencies. Multifrequency receiving is a new one with the GTR line.
Actually, I can't make my mind up whether I like the GTS 4 or not. I feel as it was a child of the Apple Watch, and the Amazfit Bip. This description is only (Amaz)fitting, not only when looking at the design, but also looking at the features.
The display of GTS 4 will be 1.75 inches big and have 390 x 450 px resolution. Just like with its round brother, this square one will have the option of the Always-On feature.
By the way, what do you think about the Amazfit logo inscribed on the crown? I personally like it.
The GTS 4 is going to be only 9.9 mm (0.39"), and it's going to weigh 27 grams without the strap. The case is also aluminium, available in black, brown, and rose-gold design. It will be attached on either silicone or nylon (yay) strap.
Feature-wise, it will be the same as it is with the GTR – calling, music control, GPS receiver (receiving two frequencies) – but with battery life of 7 days.
In my opinion, it is a great decision to give the same equipment to fans of round as well as fans of square cases. The GTS 3 had, in comparison with the GTR 3, less equipment to offer, which probably upset some potential users.
The GTS 4 Mini is a bit of a surprise as the GTS 3 Mini was never released. Amazfit simply skipped this model (or forgot about it), and just dived into its fourth generation.
When you look at the display, you will immediately see the difference. The GTS 4 is going to use the AMOLED technology, while the GTS 4 Mini got the TFT, which does not show as many details as AMOLED does. You won't notice it in the photos, but you will see it in real life.
The size of the display is going to be 1.65" with 309 ppi sharpness.
The GTS 4 Mini should be available in four colour version – Mint Blue, Flamingo Pink, Midnight Black, and Moonlight White. It also should be as light as a feather. Without the strap, the GTS 4 Mini should weigh only 19 grams. The case thickness shouldn't be a lot either, only 9.1 mm. What's nice is that it is going to be aluminium, not plastic.
The GTS 4 Mini is going to be equipped with a GPS receiver (receiving only one frequency) and optical sensor, but no calling or music playback. Which I think makes sense, as the price tag will be a bit lower than that of the GTS 4.
As some features are going to be absent, the battery life gets to be as long as the nice 15 days.
What do you think about the new Amazfits? Are they worth it? Let us know!
