You may know some easy-going people who are relaxed in every situation, walk out of any problems with a smile, and their simple good-naturedness simply makes you happy. When Disney thought of a friend for their mouse, these exact characteristics were very much on the table. And that's how we know the likable Goofy. The same philosophy was used by Invicta when they introduced the new Invicta Goofy to stand next to the Mickey Mouse model, and it definitely caught our eyes.
The Invicta Goofy watch is supposed to be like the chill friend that transfers the relaxation and good mood from the wrist directly to you. And I think it is actually working. Sporty pieces in playful colors are fresh additions to the already merry Invicta Disney collection. And what to expect from it?
Goofy, a clumsy dog with a lax approach, is one of the most famous animated characters in the world. He first appeared in 1932 by the side of Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck in Mickey's Revue, and the audience immediately fell in love with his comedic nature (mostly due to his barking laughter created by Pinto Colvig). Goofy was conceived as a one-time only character, but he was so adored by the Walt Disney employees that the company decided to "employ" him repeatedly.
The offer of the Goofy watches cannot be compared to the one with Mickey Mouse, yet the range of colors and materials is relatively rich. Even more conservative individuals can find a good match (that is an exaggeration, a real sworn conservative probably wouldn't even look at Invicta with Goofy). But there are also some pieces for more brave people with the "if playful, then all the way playful" attitude.
The most expressive Goofy is wearing orange color and a strap made of rougher silicone with a logo embossing. The straps feel solid, so it should handle the more aggressive treatment that this sporty watch was intended for. Plus, it has a finer, in a way "more velvety" surface that is very comfortable on the skin.
The whole case and the bezel are covered by a black PVD layer which gives a dynamic impression in contrast with the strong color (read: it looks really good).
The blue variant with orange accents also looks nice, as they match Goofy's t-shirt.
Goofy in black is the most universal but still very playful thanks to the orange accents (and merry Goofy, who holds one of the subdials like a steering wheel).
And for those who are not fans of silicone and want to feel the weight of the proper steel when purchasing a "jumbo from Invicta," there is the Oyster type bracelet. You can see the most on the all-steel model and admire the nice workmanship od the watch, the combination of brushed and polished parts, and the fact the watch is made quite properly.
And finally, I have to at least mention the third member of this goofy animated gang, Donald Duck. We also had him in our offer, but unfortunately, it got sold out.
As is the rule with Disney's collection, these are all limited editions.
The animator Art Babbit was largely involved in the development and improvement of Goofy's character. Babbit gave Goofy his good-naturedness and easygoingness, and he also created the characteristics like Goofy's careless walk and baggy clothes. Goofy then received his film series, starting with the Goofy and Wilbur movie in 1939 and more, all being cinematography successes. Goofy was also the first classic Disney character to play in its feature film (Goofy Movie, 1995).
Even though Goofy watches have a slightly jolly character, and there is the Goofy figure plus some other frisky design details, the watch is no child's play. The case diameter of 48 mm is a relatively massive size even for a men's watch (not for megalomanic Invicta though, but we have talked about this elsewhere), and the weight of the piece is also not negligible. But as I said, Invicta is not a brand people reach after when looking for a small watch.
The entire surface of the dial is "wallpapered" by embossing Goofy's funny hat, which we see at the zero point of the diving bezel.
It is simply a leisure robust watch that can handle a lot. Biking, swimming... And if you don't need a small imperious computer in Garmin style or similar on your wrist when doing these activities that almost let you know when it's the time to retire, a simple stopwatch might be enough for you.

ALL ABOUT: Watch complications – Chronograph
The chronograph (stopwatch) on this Invicta allows you to measure any activity for as long as one hour. The sub-dials at six and nine o'clock are used for the deduction, while the sub-dial at three o'clock tells you whether the watch is just showing the time of afternoon or morning (which is useful to see when setting the time and date for the first time).
And if you'd like to toy with it a little more, you can measure the time with the diver's scale of the unidirectional rotating bezel.
The bezel is in a diver's style, and even though Invicta isn't usually shy when it comes to the water resistance of their watches, Goofy does not belong on a wetsuit. As an accessory to a pool or the sea, sure, with the water resistance of 100 M, the watch can easily do some swimming. And this watch screams for taking it on a summer vacation, where you can take off your suit and your classic "boring" watch.
The case back is screwed down, which helps to achieve the stated water resistance. Plus, you may enjoy the engraved Goofy. The crown is a push-pull type and is protected by protrusions of the case.
And if you accidentally hit the watch, which happens to all of us, let's be real, The "Invicta" Flame Fusion glass has a sapphire layer that makes it more resistant than common minerals.
And the luminescence? Trinite brand Lumi is pretty decent, sufficient... it is no bomb, but it is enough to illumine the indices during an evening sitting with a glass of wine (or other drink of your choice.)
And the reliable Japanesse Seiko VD53 (quartz) movement will not leave you hanging, as Invicta has tried and tested over the years.
And since this watch is mostly about the design (and Goofy), there is an increased endurance and good paramets with affable facor and (significant) plus.
Normally, I would conclude with some other pluses and minuses of the watch, maybe added something to think about or an opinion if the watch is worth it or not (yes, by the way, it is worth it.) But in the spirit of the goofy Goofy, I am including this short episode about three animated rascals form Disney that brings me as much joy as this watch does.
