I wasn't particularly looking forward to next year. I thought it would probably be as bleak as the last one. But Garmin turned everything around with their new pieces, arriving throughout the year of 2022. The most anticipated new arrival is Fenix 7, but Instinct 2 and Epix 2 are joining the smart family, along with Garmin Venu 2 Plus, which was announced earlier! Well, I'm not going to lie, I can't wait. What about you?
The information appeared in this Winfuture.de article and it has been spreading through the world of wearable electronics faster than Covid-19 through the world. Yes, a bit harsh comparison, but a true one. But I won't keep you waiting for long. What can we expect from Garmin in 2022?
There is not much information yet, but it seems that the 7th generation of Fenix will come in three sizes again, the middle one having the diameter of 47 mm, the smallest 42 mm. The bezel and case back will be 316L steel and some models will have built-in solar panels. Whether its output will change, we do not yet know.
The design is very similar to the design of the previous generation, with some changes. At first sight, the START/STOP button will catch your eye with its colour accent around it. There are also some nicks on the bezel and the back case that we have not seen with their predecessors. What's interesting about the smaller sizes is the colour of the lugs, about the bigger sizes it's the design screws.

Garmin Fenix 7 review – I am Fenix the 7, and who is better than me?
This model was a showstopper in its prime. It was one of the first fitness trackers with mapping support, and next year marks 7 years since its release. The parameters should be comparable with the Fenix series – water rating of 100 metres, military standard of durability, plastic and steel combination. We will know more after CES 2022.
The title is a joke, of course. Instinct is made for military usage, it has several characteristics to prove it – light plastic body, outdoor features, and military standard of durability. Surely, this generation will also come with built-in solar charging. A great point to highlight is that a smaller version, Instinct 2S, will come be also available.
The models above are members of the outdoor family. Let's see something that's more "urban". The left side of the Venu 2 Plus hints that Venu 2 Plus could be the first Garmin smart watch that would allow you to make calls from your wrist. Although, it could also be a hole of the barometer... But that would disappoint many users.
Nevertheless, Garmin Venu 2 was a pretty loaded model, and I do not even dare to guess how further Garmin will take it. The only thing that could come to your mind is probably only calling or text-to-speech features.
What's more, Garmin plans to release new colour variant of Vívomove3, Vívomove Sport, and Approach 12.
So far, no date is set for when the watches will be available but considering the leaked photos (definitely not typical of Garmin), it will not be too far away.
What do you think are some possible features of these models? Or when they will be available? Tell us in the comment, let's discuss this! :)
