At the end of 2020, the Tissot started to focuse on ladies, creating a small women's T-My Lady watches, from which both fans of a practical quartz and lovers of mechanical watches will be able to choose. Tissot T-My Lady Quartz and Tissot T-My Lady Automatic are basically supposed to capture the essence of a modern energetic woman who wants to get the most out of life. Do these watches meet expectations?
This criteria sounds a bit vague to me. Who is a modern woman? And what does she requires from her watches?
Tissot tells us the following:
"The Tissot T-My Lady line is based on a vision of modern 'Tissot woman.' Such woman is confident about her life decisions, she is conscious, yet she lives an exciting life and wants to get the most out of everything. Her world is defined by the movement between home, office, nightlife and active lifestyle. We created Tissot T-My Lady for these women."
T-My Lady belongs to the T-Classic series, which is dedicated to men's and women's classic watches.
Based on my imagination, this active, social and obviously elegant woman, changes her jacket, when she gets home from the office, for a more casual outfit and goes for a walk through the park or a relaxing ride on a bike. She then ends her day with dinner at the restaurant or goes with a friend to a modern bar. For these occasions, she will wear her favorite dresses and her accessories (in our case, watches) will of course complement them perfectly.
This means that for all the listed occasions and daily pitfalls, she will need watches that are elegant, durable and, above all, universally compatible with all the clothes she chooses to wear that day or any other.
Yes and no. T-My Lady is a simple three-handed watches with a date stamp, which excels in today's conditions with unusually small dimensions (29 mm) - but in the course of the last few years the size of the watches are clearly "oversized" (not to mention colour variants and functions), so in in this respect, in my opinion, they do not fully meet the requirement of modernity ... Furthermore, I lack a more decent luminescence, which would be especially useful in the mentioned "nightlife" of our model woman.
However, what could meet its requirements is that, despite their size, these watches are not fragile jewelry by any means, they are rather well-built and durable and as such, will definitely withstand the pitfalls of everyday life in the city.
They have increased water resistance up to 100 M, so the watches can withstand a pool, for example. They also have an almost non-scratchable sapphire crystal (unless the wearer inadvertently scratch it with a diamond ring), which is set in a more robust case made of surgical steel. The link bracelet is also made of steel.
What I consider to be a great pull of the Tissot is the replacement leather strap with Quick Release (easy to replace), which is included with each model - so the owner can choose between leather and classic silver steel during the day, which itself fits almost anything . The design of the watches itself is clean and simple, and so the watches meets the requirement of universal compatibility with virtually any outfit.
As for the more affordable models with the quartz movement, we offer four colourful versions.
The most interesting is definitely the model with a pearl dial. This is a real mother of pearl, which is inherently non-replicable, so each T-My Lady mother of pearl is unique. A beautiful game of light and colour takes place on the dial, which is enhanced at the top by warm reflections of rose-gold indices and hands with decorative engraving. The leather strap that comes with them has a decent cream color.
Ladies with fine taste will appreciate the model with a pink dial with the so-called sunburst grinding based on the center of the dial, which evokes the effect of sun rays when light is reflected. The leather strap is here in a matching old pink color.
The model with a black dial received a classic brown strap and the all-silver got a dark blue one.
Models with a mechanical movement are again available in four colour versions, but unlike the quartz ones, they received a bonus in the form of a diamond glitter. There are eight diamonds of 0.0160 ct on the dial and they sit in the main index positions.
We will meet again with a model with a mother of pearl dial and a spare cream strap, but this time it has silver hands, which are better suited to the cold glitter of diamonds.
Another model, with a sapphire blue dial, to which a dark blue leather strap is included.
The following are two models with a black dial, which differ in the colour of the hands. T-My Lady with silver handles got a classic black leather strap and the one with handles in rosegold got light gray.
T-My Lady Automatic have a transparent case back that will delight lovers of small mechanics - the decorated mechanical movement with automatic winding with a 48-hour power reserve can be seen perfectly.
The T-My Lady models with the Tissot quartz movement were born a little earlier, and I had the honour of trying them out on my own wrist. With a rather small circumference slightly below 14.5 cm, it does not happen to me very often that watch fits perfectly. (In general, I prefer to admire the watch on the wrists of my colleagues, most of whom usually fit beautifully).
However, with the T-My Lady with a 29mm case, the card was turned over. Finally, these watches were simply "mine" at first glance. They layed perfectly on my wrist, their weight (78 g) was simply "just right" and I probably melted improperly over how perfectly they sat in the hole behind the wrist bones for maybe too long.
I was thrilled by the potential variability with which I could wear these, as well as the water resistance up to 100 M, with which I would not have to worry about spontaneous jump into the water (for example, on a summer party by the lake). The sapphire crystal is superb, as that does not scratch, and with a Swiss lineage that warms the heart. ;)

I also appreciatedthose small details, such as the tiny facets on the brushed surface of the case and the edge of the glossy bezel, the signage on the crown and clasp, the president bracelet with a polished center, and simply all these little things that make watches visually more expensive than they really are.
Every rose has its thorn, that inclueds ale the T-My Lady series and in my opinion I'm a bit sceptical about them. Because at first glance, my initial excitement over the watch faded a little. To explain - although I'm not even twenty-seven, I'm one of the women with a classic and minimalist taste and I really appreciate the good old "boring" watches, but T-My Lady may have been too ... Sedentary.
The robustness, which ensures the required durability, did not visually helped much to watches of such small proportions (but it is really just a matter of personal taste). And when I found out that the leg span was 15 mm, I deducted more points from the T-My Lady - as the standard straps are produced in even numbers. I'm not saying that you won't be able to buy a spare strap with a width of 15 mm, but it will definitely be harder for you to find such strap.
If I didn't have really good eyesight up close, I'd probably complain about a really tiny date window, on which some would be slowly taking a magnifying glass. The readability is also reduced by a glass without an anti-reflective layer, which would be really useful in such a small model, where the readability is reduced by size.
Nevertheless, the T-My Lady are a successful watches, which in my opinion are intended for a specific type of woman with a specific, timeless rather than modern taste, regardless of age. They will captivate an elegant minimalist Lady, whose wardrobe is rather classic and sophisticated. In short, a woman who does not tolerate any exaggerated fads and her watches must be a functional and at the same time decent fashion accessory. The advantage is to have a slim wrist, on which the T-My Lady will stand out beautifully. So if you find yourself in this description, T-My Lady will be a very good choice for you.
